Reynolds Urged Foley To Run Despite E-Mails

Columnist Robert Novak (it's hard to type with one hand holding your nose) reports today in his syndicated column that Republican Buffalo-area congressman Tom Reynolds urged Mark Foley to seek re-election this year even after knowing about an e-mail sent by Foley to a 16-year-old male page.

Novak reports that Foley was considering not running for re-election this year because he was discouraged about his chances for advancement, but that Reynolds, who heads the National Republican Congressional Committee, urged Foley to seek re-election because Reynolds wanted to keep the number of open seats to a minimum.
